Planning and permitting

MER provides field sampling and marine environmental, habitat, and commercial/non-commercial resources expertise in support of commercial and industrial projects either directly or in collaboration with other planning and permit-development companies in Maine and Northern New England. 

Projects include installation or expansion of nearshore and offshore oil and gas import terminals, maintenance and expansion of access at U.S. Navy and Coast Guard facilities, dredging of port navigational channels, and development of commercial marinas, cruise ship terminals, and regional boat landing facilities.

MER has been working closely with the Maine salmon industry for over 20 years assisting with site selection and permit application development from the Penobscot Bay area all along the Downeast coast to Passamaquoddy Bay.
