OUR TEAM: Dan Millar has a B.S. in Invertebrate Zoology from the University of New Hampshire and has been working with MER since 1997. As laboratory manager, Dan supervises in-lab sample processing, data input, and invertebrate taxonomy. When working in the field, his primary responsibilities are sample processing, proper sample identification, inventory, and tracking. Back in the lab, he is also responsible for both qualitative and quantitative video review and analysis. Dan participates in the development and technical review of marine resource mitigation effort proposals within MER. And as a commercial lobster fisherman with 30 years experience, he also serves as the captain of his vessel, F/V Rewben, when used as a platform for offshore, deepwater sampling. In his spare time, Dan makes scale half-hull models.
